Communication Services

Internet is changing the way people communicate. It is estimated there are 1'97 billions of Internet users worldwide, who have sent 107 trillions of e-mails, have created more than 200 billions of websites and over 150 billions of blogs and 30 triillion of shared content of all kinds on Facebook. This trend is unstoppable and in the future we will continue to see new forms of communication appear.

Telefónica R&D is looking for these new communication modes, evolving voice communication services for them to be more personal or converting voice into digital content so it can be organized and searched. Also, we are working on the application of cloud technologies to make the creation of these new communication services easier. The goal is to offer advanced and attractive to customers services trying to break the barrier between the web and traditional communications: voice communications between people.

To bring the communications to the online environment is a strategic pillar. By joining these two technological worlds, Telefónica R&D is building advanced services combining the of web interaction capabilities with the familiarity and comfort of the basic communication services.
