The m:Via project is a research cooperative project, co-funded by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade of Spain (Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio). As part of dissemination activities, and also to foster networking and future work in the ITS area, the workshop "Soluciones innovadoras para lograr vehiculos, vias y transportes inteligentes"(m:Vía – Innovative solutions to achieve intelligent vehicles, roads and transports) that has been organized, to take place 19th of January in Málaga.

The project m:Via has worked on the area of communications networks, and also on applications and services platforms, with the aim of providing improvements and evaluating new solutions for intelligent transport systems. Under the project, an architecture based on the basic concepts of European architecture reference ITS has been devised and implemented, contributing with improvements such as integrated capabilities of the IMS subsystem.

Regarding communications in the vehicle, basic aspects of theAd-hoc mobile networks has been considered and evaluated, as well as and their integration with existing network infrastructure (GSM, UMTS, WiMAX ...), also covering the technological aspects of the onboard systems in the vehicles (both integrated and nomadic).

Another key element of this project has been the specification and design of a service architecture that enables the management of full lifecycle of services, working on the mechanisms and tools that enable the development, deployment and management of multiple services on a vehicular environment, in a fast, secure and robust way.

The main solutions developed have been integrated in a demonstrator, including such services in the areas of road safety, mobility infotainment, vehicle management and traffic optimization professionals that have served to show the viability of proposed solutions and to evaluate his performance.

The workshop will be held at the Technological Park of Andalucia (Malaga), 19 January 2010 and during the day, are shown in theoretical and practical results and progress made in the framework of the project m: Via, and the future of ITS in the national context. The event is free but by invitation, which can be obtained through info@mvia.es.
